Slackrr Get Heated On New Album ‘Set The Night On Fire’

Slackrr are one of the UK’s finest exports when it comes to pop-punk. Consistently producing tracks that blend the colorfulness of the past with the emotional depth of the present, they are always that one step ahead of the pack. The band shared their last full-length, A Place That Feels Like Home, back in 2022. But they have swiftly followed it up with another batch of bangers. That new record is out now and is an absolute riot.

It’s called Set The Night On Fire and is 13 tracks of high-octane and heartfelt joyfulness. With songs about realising self-worth, pushing positive energy into the world and overcoming adversity, it’s designed to make you feel alive. To beat whatever is holding you down. Being the finest version of yourself. Taking life back into your own hands. All these sentiments and so many more make it a powerful and potent listen.

From dealing with loss, specifically with vocalist Scotty Perry losing two of his grandparents in quick succession, to rebuilding the world around you when things start to crumble, it’s an album brimming with heart and soul. But in the face of such adversity, Slackrr are the sort of band that won’t go down that easily. With Set The Night On Fire, they are showing once more what strong stuff they are made of.

The band had this to say about the record:

“We are so excited about our album being released into the world. The album was written in late 2022 to early 2023 just after we got back from a relentless touring schedule of club dates and festivals and our first tour in America. This album has turned out to be our most personal and reflective album to date. We’ve had a lot of personal losses within the band while trying to write and record, and this changed the direction of a lot of the songs and the lyrics.

In the end, it brought us closer together as a band and we hope that this album gives out a message of hope to our fans, and that you have more people out there who care about you than you realise and that by pulling together as a community you can get through anything with positivity and remembering how to have fun through the love of music.”
