System Of A Down‘s Serj Tankian may have just performed a stellar 27-song-long set at Sick New World, but he’s not slowing down anytime soon. Today, the artist released a thrilling new solo track, “A.F. Day,” via Gibson Records.
“This is a song I wrote in the early days of System Of A Down that I never released,” Tankian says. “The majority of the instrumentation and vocals are recordings from that time. Dystopian in mood, the song is a reflection of the angst and anti-authoritarian attitude I had to conformity.”
The new brutally honest track is just a taste of what’s to come on Tankian‘s forthcoming EP Foundations, which is set to arrive in fall 2024. Check out the new single “A.F. Day” below as we wait for more politically charged tracks.
The new single isn’t the only thing this legendary singer released this week, Tankian also released his memoir on May 14 Down With The System via Hachette Books.
