RØRY Issues Heartbreaking Track “the apology i’ll never receive”

RØRY is back with a new track “the apology i’ll never receive“. It is another self-analysing piece of alternative pop. It’s a style of songwriting that they have established for themselves over the last few years. A chance to speak to the version of themselves from the past and assure them that things do get better. Their journey up until now has been a heavy one, but with every new day and new track, the sun creeps more and more from behind the clouds. Though with this song, in particular, it is even closer to home than the others, as it concerns something that may never happen.

the apology i’ll never receive” refers to one that RØRY is waiting for from her father. To so many, family is everything, and when it is ripped apart, it is even harder to come to terms with things. But with this song, a softly plucked acoustic-led anthem, the heartbreak is even more palpable. Written from the perspective of their father and what they wish they would say, it’s as stark as it comes. It’s a song that will serve as therapy for so many and solace for others, the true essence of what writing music from the soul is about.

RØRY had this to say about the song, an honest admission of what is clearly a difficult song to sing:

“I have spent years waiting for my father to say sorry, [and] felt like I couldn’t move on from the pain without some kind of acknowledgement. I have been desperate for it… eventually I decided to write it myself. And that is this song. There are so many people out there who have been shamed, and scapegoated by their own families. I truly hope this can be healing for them to hear.”
