Rise Rock n’ Shine: Social Animals + Honey Lung

Turn off the alarm and turn up the music,

it’s time to Rise Rock n’ Shine…

Who: We’re all gonna be praising Rise Records this April. Why? They’re bringing us Social Animals new EP Best Years. The indie rock act from Minnesota has a killer sound to share and we’re anxiously waiting for more tunes.

What: Get underground, get lost, get found, but most importantly… get into “Get Over It”.

Why: We’re not sure what it is about the melody of “Get Over It”, but it gives us that kind of hope for our day that usually only espresso provides. Juxtaposing lyrics make this the perfect song to cheer up or get moody—just let the music take you, fam.

“‘Get Over It’ is about every wasted night on the linoleum kitchen floor of your studio apartment. Putting your life on pause to relish in the ritual of finding different ways to avoid your problems. If you’ve been there, you get it. Hope you enjoy.” – Dedric Clark, vocalist/guitarist for Social Animals

Who: Have you heard of Honey Lung? The London alternative band is on a steep upward trajectory and take off starts with their forthcoming EP Post Modern Motorcade Music.

What: Get a taste of the tunes to come with single “Juggle”.

Why: If you liked alt-rock in the 90s, you’ll live for the vibes on “Juggle”. Light beats and a maze of lyrics guide you through the catchy af tune. It’s “Blister In The Sun” by The Violent Femmes for a modern age.
