Rise Rock n’ Shine: Jordan Lindley + Sick Joy

Alarm clocks suck. Wake up to the best new tunes instead.

It’s time to Rise Rock n’ Shine…

Who: With his bands, Jordan Lindley has played shows with All American Rejects, The Rocket Summer, and more. With his solo career, things are about to get even better.

What: All Lindley’s singer-songwriter talent is showcased on new track “To You, For Her”.

Why: “To You, For Her” is beautiful without ever even trying. It doesn’t demand anything of the listener. Instead it lets you sit back and get wrapped up in its melodies, exploring the mood Lindley has created.

“Hey guys! This is Jordan Lindley, and I just released my first single ‘To You, For Her.’ I wrote it while I was between an old and new relationship, and tried to put into the words all the weird, confusing, guilty, uncomfortable feelings I got from it. The whole upcoming EP, Look Back, taps into the feelings that we don’t always know how to articulate. I learned a lot about where I was emotionally by the time I finished it, and I hope that this song, as well as the EP to come, resonates with you the way that it does with me. Thanks so much for listening!” – Jordan Lindley

Who: If you’re sleeping on Brighton’s Sick Joy, it’s time to wake up. The band is set to release a new EP, Them Days, on 9/13 and this is a party you don’t want to be late to.

What: Nestled somewhere between grunge, pop, and good ol’ rock n’ roll lives “Vibe Sucker”.

Why: “Vibe Sucker” has a fuzz-pop melody that sounds a lot like dark sunglasses, leather jackets, and the feeling of being cool.

“It’s just a universally personal chant of frustration at a whole bunch of stuff… Everyone knows that shit.” – Mykl, guitarist and vocalist for Sick Joy
