Any other June, we would be out celebrating Pride month with our LGBTQ+ community. Unfortunately, Pride events have been sacrificed for public safety due to COVID-19. The good news is, that’s not stopping Pride Live and Pride Media from celebrating their third annual Stonewall Day via streaming on June 26th.

The event will be hosted by Geena Rocero and will include an encouraging message from former President Barack Obama. The entertainment includes artists like Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, and Demi Lovato.
In 2018, Stonewall Day was created to commemorate the 1969 Stonewall Riots. This event has been used to create awareness for the LGBTQ+ community and the call for equality. This year will be no different. In fact, this year it feels more pressing than ever.
Donations from the event will go directly to helping Trans Lifeline, Brave Space Alliance, TransLatina Coalition and The Ally Coalition, which have been affected by Coronavirus.
The President of the Pride Live Board of Directors, Dr. Yvette C. Burton said, “We are so proud to partner with Pride Media for Stonewall Day 2020. This global livestream event will raise critical funds for our LGBTQ+ youth organizations most affected by COVID-19. If our history has taught us anything, it is that our greatest moments have come from helping and supporting each other — and we invite all of you to join us on June 26.”
Make sure to tune in at 12:45pm ET on June 26th. You’ll be able to stream from YouTube or Facebook. To support the cause and donate, text REBEL to 243725.
