The artists signed to Fearless Records have defined the alternative and heavy music scenes for three decades. That’s right—the iconic record label is turning 30 years old this year. Over the years, Fearless Records has been home to some of our favorite artists here at idobi Radio including I Prevail, Ice Nine Kills, Chase Atlantic, Movements, Pierce The Veil, and more.

It’s safe to assume that Pierce The Veil‘s album Collide With The Sky is synonymous with the label’s legendary catalog. It is one of the band’s most impactful releases that defined the 2010s decade of emo music. The fan hysteria surrounding the band when it came out 12 years ago on July 17, 2012, was unparalleled. To celebrate the anniversary of the record label, we look back at the top five most unbelievable moments that happened at Pierce The Veil shows during the Collide With The Sky touring era.

Vic Smashes a Guitar

What is the most rock ‘n’ roll thing an artist could do on stage? Smash an instrument, of course. It’s a pinnacle act of defiance, aggression, and destruction to culminate the end of a powerful performance. Vocalist Vic Fuentes got the memo as he raised his Fender Toronado up to the sky, showed off a mischievous grin, and proceeded to viscerally demolish it to pieces in front of the roaring Reading and Leeds Festival audience. It’s a real act of rebellion, considering that he smashed a guitar model that is now discontinued.

Jenna McDougall from Tonight Alive Joins PTV on Stage for “Hold On Till May”

Hold On Till May” is the notorious tear-jerker on the Collide With The Sky album tracklist. Originally, the song featured Lindsey Stamey performing the bridge. Throughout the years, the band has welcomed various vocalists to join them during live performances of this track. Most notably, Jenna McDougall from Australian pop-rock band Tonight Alive frequently lends her powerful vocals to the part. This video was taken on November 5, 2012 during the height of the Collide With The Sky touring cycle and a big time in Tonight Alive‘s career too. The result is a star-studded collaboration that made the audience go wild!

Pierce The Veil Sings to a Fan on Stage

Pierce The Veil has always shown care and gratitude toward their fanbase. It’s one of the many reasons they’ve had longevity and long-lasting connections with their audiences. One way they made fans feel special is with a special on-stage serenade for one lucky concert goer. It’s the only seat in the venue that’s even closer than the front row. In this video in particular, Vic shares a special moment as he sings “Bulletproof Love” to an adoring fan in 2014. The crowd screamed and cheered in hysterics over the memorable moment.

A Fan Proposes on Stage

Music unites people, whether it’s through romantic partnerships or friendships. For a couple who shares a mutual love of Pierce The Veil, there is no better way to proclaim your “bulletproof love” than by proposing on stage alongside the band at one of their shows. This couple in Dallas, TX, shared an unforgettable moment in 2017 when vocalist Vic Fuentes invited them on stage for a surprise wedding proposal.

Jason Aalon Butler (now of FEVER 333 fame) Performs With PTV

Before FEVER 333, Jason Aalon Butler was the lead vocalist for the band letlive. and he toured alongside Pierce The Veil in 2013 at the height of the Collide With The Sky era. This is no coincidence considering Jason’s special guest vocal performance on “Tangles In The Great Escape,” which is a fan-favorite track on the album. The touring partnership gave fans a special opportunity to see the collaboration performed in person. Jason brought his intensity and high energy to the stage, which set the live version apart from the original recording.

These days, Pierce The Veil remains an indispensable band in the scene as they continue cranking out unstoppable new music through Fearless Records and playing their greatest hits. Their latest release is a special rendition of Radiohead‘s hit song “Karma Police” and they are touring with blink-182 this summer.
