As A24 Music kicks off their Talking Heads tribute album, Everyone’s Getting Involved: A Tribute to Talking Heads’ Stop Making Sense, Paramore has unveiled their cover of “Burning Down The House.” This tribute album, an homage to the Talking Heads’ legacy, shares its namesake with Jonathan Demme’s concert film and the accompanying 1984 album, both capturing the allure of the band’s live performances at Hollywood’s Pantages Theatre over four nights in the winter of 1983.
Paramore’s cover is just the first glimpse into the talent featured on Everyone’s Getting Involved. The tribute album boasts contributions from the likes of Blondshell, girl in red, The Linda Lindas, Miley Cyrus, The National, and more. Paying respect to the original Stop Making Sense (Live) release, the album will showcase the same 16 tracks, each artist adding their unique touch to the Talking Heads’ classics in celebration of the group.

“Burning Down The House,” arguably Talking Heads’ most universally recognized song, finds its second life in Paramore’s rendition. The group skillfully captures the vibrant essence of the track through a blend of poppy ‘80s guitars and synth layers. It’s no surprise that vocalist Hayley Williams really committed to the track—her vocal prowess and charisma take center stage. Despite being a cover, Paramore injects the track with their own spin, making it feel like their own.
