After deleting all posts across their social media feeds and leaving blank profile pictures, fans had many theories about Paramore‘s whereabouts. Anxieties arose around the band’s possible breakup as even the trio’s website showed up as a 404 error. However, Paramore posted for the first time today to reveal a forthcoming music project with indie movie extraordinaire A24.
A clip released on Instagram and YouTube shows lead singer Hayley Williams opening up a package to find oversized suit jackets à la David Byrne before focusing on Taylor York and Zac Farro. Then, the video ends with a teaser for a Paramore cover of “Burning Down the House” by Talking Heads. Check out the clip below.
Additionally, the clip revealed that this cover is part of a Stop Making Sense tribute album, and Paramore is one of 16 artists set to appear on its tracklist.
Stop Making Sense is both the name of a Talking Heads live album as well as their 1984 music documentary. This film made its way back to theaters in September 2023 for a special re-release courtesy of A24.
As of now, no other artists have been revealed to be a part of the project, and no release dates have been shared.
