Oxymorrons Share Important New Track “Last Call”

Oxymorrons are the sort of band where you never know what you’re going to get when a new song drops. Obliterating genre borders with gleeful intent, they push and pull at expectations in the most gloriously exciting ways that they can produce. And their latest drop, “Last Call” is no different.

An atmospheric and outrageous piece of thoughtful modern rock, it is speckled with plenty of hip-hop intent and pop sensibility for good measure as well. It batters and bruises in all the best ways, and expresses the difficult feeling of using alcohol as a crutch in a deeply affecting way. A vital song and another vital move for a band that are still only just getting started.

The band had this to say about it:

“‘Last Call’ is an exercise in vulnerability and using our music to help us better understand ourselves and our coping mechanisms. Too many times we’ve all found ourselves drowning at the bottom of a bottle, using alcohol to help us feel something different or feel nothing at all. Whether you’ve struggled in the past or are struggling right now, we hope this song helps you feel seen and plays a role in helping you not struggle in the future.”

The track also features Troi Irons, who had this to say about it:

I’ve long been a fan of the Oxymorrons and what they do so I was thrilled to hop on this song. I don’t really drink but it’s more a metaphor for how humans tend to reach for the closest thing to help us feel less alone. It’s not always healthy. Hopefully people reach for the music to feel less alone with this one.”

The track is Oxymorrons’ second release of the year, following on from “Enemy”, which sounds like this:
