Out Of Love are one of the UK’s best new bands. Kicking off their journey back in 2020 and not looking back, they have spent the last three years developing their gritty, joyous and wonderful punk sound, sprinkling in plenty of hardcore, brit-pop and grunge along the way.

And those experiments have culminated in tracks like “Unplug My Head”, their first new music of 2023 and a wonderful place to kick off a new era. Dream-like chords, infectious melodies and the sort of self-referential and downtrodden mood that perfectly suits such a sound, it’s a home run in a series of home runs.

Vocalist Jack Rogers had this to say about it:

“I worry about everything, I worry so much about all potential outcomes I end up not enjoying 99% of the things I do. I wrote Unplug My Head during a really bad episode of my anxiety. I’m always jealous of people who seem to be able to “live in the moment” and let go.  There was lots happening around the time the track was imagined. The war started up in Ukraine, The cost of living crisis plus a few personal problems and it seemed no matter where I went or who I spoke to, I couldn’t avoid hearing about all the things I was actively trying to avoid. I was so stressed about everything I remember being on the phone to a friend and literally saying I want to unplug my head and the idea was born!  I wanted a day where I could forget everything, live outside my own brain and switch off, This track is about just that!”

Out Of Love comprised their discography into one ultimate LP last year titled, So Far, So Good. It also featured “Pity”, which sounds a lot like this:
