The Japanese rock band, One Ok Rock are outdoing themselves with the release of their new single, “Make It Out Alive.” Released via Fueled By Ramen, the song features the band’s signature rock sound by combining driving guitar parts with explosive drum fills that add an infectious energy after one listen.

The song marks the band’s first release of 2023 and could very likely mark the beginning of a new album cycle. Their last record, Luxury Disease, made it to the No. 1 slot on the Oricon Japanese Albums charts and ranked No. 32 in UK Album Downloads in its first week. While it can feel daunting to follow such a successful record, One Ok Rock shows that they have so much more to say with their latest release.

In addition to the track, One Ok Rock gave fans a video teaser for the track’s upcoming music video. Performing in an empty city street, the band is alone until lead singer, Takahiro Moriuchi stands across from an ominously large monster. Resembling a dragon, the animal has red eyes and tusks, matching the same creature that is on the single’s cover art. With over 90,000 views on YouTube in less than 5 hours, fans are eagerly awaiting the video’s premiere. It is set to occur on Tuesday, August 29 at 9 AM Eastern Standard Time.

In addition to “Make It Out Alive,” the band is finishing 2023 with a slew of performances across Asia. This includes an appearance at Wanima 1Chance Festival in Japan, as well as headlining dates on their Luxury Disease Tour. You can check out the upcoming tour dates below and grab tickets here
