NOAHFINNCE Calls Out Transphobic “scumbag” On New Single

Here at idobi, we love artists who make a statement with their music. From Green Day’s American Idiot to Neck Deep’s The Peace And The Panic, music and lyrics remain a powerful outlet for bands to share their socio-political views and spark movements within their fanbases. YouTube star turned pop-punk act, NOAHFINNCE is speaking out on trans rights and calling out TERFs in his latest single, “scumbag.”

Combining his unique blend of distorted guitars and Myspace-era synthesizers, the new song is a dynamic diss track that cleverly fights back against transphobia. With lyrics like “this inclusion delusion gender confusion/why are you assuming there’s no room for debate,” as well as a reference to the infamous Professor Umbridge of the Harry Potter franchise, NOAHFINNCE openly addresses the challenges and fears that individuals in the LGBTQIA+ community daily, as well as his own experiences as a transgender artist. And rather than succumbing to this fear, the songwriter rises above the hatred to make an empowering statement.

“I’m tired of politicians and well-respected celebrities coming out and manufacturing this idea that trans people are dangerous and infringing on other people’s rights when the reality is that we just want to be left alone to live our lives in peace,” he says. “The data is and has always been on our side, but the increased effort to scapegoat us has had detrimental effects on our community.”
