News Flashes 07.21.22: A Day to Remember’s “Miracle”, Billie Eilish’s New Music, and House of The Dragon Trailer

Today we talk about A Day to Remember’s new single, Billie Eilish making us emotional, and the new House of the Dragon trailer.

A Day to Remember’s “Miracle”

A Day to Remember is back with new music for the first time this year. Their new song “Miracle” dropped today and the gut punching song is paired with a music video that goes just as hard. We invite you to spend your day getting all of your stress out by screaming along with the band: “If you could only see the way that I see / You could find the faith to take a leap / It only took one shot / To prove all not made of glass / There’s no pain you could / ‘Cause that won’t eventually pass / If you could only see the way that I see.” (It feels great, we promise.)

ADTR has already been playing shows this year but they are taking on an insane North American tour starting next week. They’ll be kicking off in Baltimore and will go until the end of October in Las Vegas at the When We Were Young Festival. During select dates they’ll be supported by a combination of these heavy hitters: The Used, The Ghost Inside, Beartooth, Bad Omens, Movements, and Magnolia Park. Billie Eilish is Making Us All Cry

Alright, Billie Eilish has us so emotional today with her two new songs “TV” and “The 30th”. Both tracks are slower and jam-packed with heartfelt and relatable lyrics. “TV” talks about “Watching Survivor just to watch someone suffer,” how society was focused on celebrity trials while Roe v. Wade got overturned, and how you lose friends when you fall in love. She sings, “And I’ll be in denial for at least a little while / What about the plans we made?” Eilish takes you on a roller coaster of intrusive thoughts that are so beautifully strung together, it stops you in your tracks for a moment.

“The 30th” is just as spellbinding as it takes you through the story of a loved one who was in an accident. She goes over the memorable moments of a terrible night. Then she leads us to the “what ifs” of an already tragic event: “What if you weren’t alone? / There were kids in the car / What if you were remote? / No one knows where you are / If you changed anything, would you not have survived? / You’re alive, you’re alive, you’re alive.” In this bridge, we feel the anxiety build in a song that is mostly soft and somber. Eilish has a way of using her lyrics, vocals, and guitar to capture the emotion and feeling behind the song.

House of the Dragon

Consider us fully entertained today because HBO released the new trailer for House of the Dragon, the new Game of Thrones prequel series. The 10 episode season will take us back 200 years before the events we’ve already seen. We get to take a look at the Targaryen family history and spend more time with dragons. In the trailer, King Viserys Targaryen has a dream about putting his own heir on the Iron Throne. We are sure to see Easter eggs throughout this series that connect the show to what we already know. We hope we get exciting insight and that it will possibly heal some of our hurt after that series finale. Watch the trailer below!
