Today we’ve got the scoop on Netflix’s new additions to The Sandman, 88Rising’s benefit concert for Asian Mental Health Collective, and The Maine teases a new song coming out Friday.
Netflix Announces Additional Cast for The Sandman
The cast for The Sandman just got bigger. Netflix has announced twelve new additions to the cast: Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Mason Alexander Park, Donna Preston, Jenna Coleman, Niamh Walsh, Joely Richardson, David Thewlis, Kyo Ra, Stephen Fry, Razane Jammal, Sandra James Young, and Patton Oswalt. Additionally, executive producer and creator of the original DC Comic series, Neil Gaiman released a blog post talking about each character and why the actors were chosen for their respective roles.
88Rising Holding Benefit Concert for
Asian Mental Health Collective
Mass media company 88Rising has put together a benefit concert for nonprofit Asian Mental Health Collective. Titled Asia Rising Together, the online event will feature performances by Atarashii Gakko!, Audrey Mika, Audrey Nuna, Bizzy, eaJ (of DAY6), Guapdad 4000, KOAD, Luna Li, mxmtoon, Niki, Seori, Tiger JK, and yoonmirae. Additionally RZA, Dumbfounded, and Ocean Vuong are expected to make a special guest appearance. The virtual event will not only include music from artists but will also highlight AAPI led businesses, artist stories, and various Asian American organizations. The benefit concert takes place today, May 26 at 4 pm ET/ 7pm PT on 88Rising’s YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and SiriusXM channels.

The Maine just keeps on giving us something to look forward to. The band revealed that their next single “Lips” will be dropping this Friday. They’ve also mentioned that they’ll be releasing more tour dates.
