Today we talk about the new Stranger Things trailer, the Michaeljohn Horne & Thomas E. Jones Youth Housing center in Los Angeles, and JoJo Siwa’s beef with Nickelodeon.
A Brand New Stranger Things Trailer
We didn’t think we could get anymore excited, but we are losing our minds after the new Stranger Things trailer dropped earlier today. The trailer has elements that make it feel like a horror movie, clearly showing us that things are about to get a lot messier before this is all over. The kids aren’t kids anymore and they are facing their own challenges while, you know, saving the world. Growing up isn’t easy, and then you throw some monsters in there, and drama is sure to start. The Upside Down seems to somehow be even darker than ever before and it’s coming back with a vengence. The trailer is enough to give you chills and now we are antsy waiting for more. We get a whole 3 minutes of a taste of what’s to come and it is wild to say the least. Watch the trailer below and get ready for part one of season 4 May 27th on Netflix!

Michaeljohn Horne & Thomas E. Jones Youth Housing
The Michaeljohn Horne & Thomas Eugene Jones Youth Housing is a brand new center that has opened up in Los Angeles for the LGBTQ+ community that is 24 and under. In the center there are 25 housing units for people that are experiencing homelessness. Not only will these young adults have a place to live, but the center is also providing things like employment, counseling, food and clothing assistance, and support groups. The location of the center provides easy access to public transportation, restaurants, and parks. When opening, the CEO Lorri L. Jean stated, “we know that this project is not enough. There are thousands more youth in our community who still face the burdens of homelessness and all of its challenges: employment, food insecurity, mental health issues. Today at least we are making a dent in those problems. This building is a model for how we can start to better meet all of their needs.” We hope to see more projects like this as time goes on, because it’s the support the LGBTQ+ community needs.

JoJo Siwa vs. Nickelodeon
Things between JoJo Siwa and Nickelodeon are getting spicy. Siwa has been a regular attender for this Kid’s Choice Awards for years, so fans were quick to notice when she wasn’t there at this weekend’s award show. She took to her Instagram to state simply that it wasn’t her choice and that she wasn’t invited. People began to put a timeline together of the internet and noticed that this is the first Kid’s Choice Awards since Siwa publically joined the LGBTQ+ community and just recently chopped off her iconic ponytail to sport a fun short haircut. A girl on TikTok, with the username @hotgirlbookshelff, got on her account yesterday to talk about how Nickelodeon called the NYPD on her own a tweet about JoJo Siwa. The tweet itself was a joke about burning down the headquaters because of them doing the star dirty. Luckily the detective seemed to realize it was a joke, but had to follow through with the report. It seems like Nickelodeon is on the defense after not supporting Siwa, but have yet to directly acknowledge it.
