We’re in trouble…because Never Shout Never’s Christofer Drew has officially hung up the mic of his music career. On Saturday, November 25, Drew took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the news of his retirement from music through a series of tweets. He initially tweeted, “Big changes in my life rn,” without any additional details.

On the same day, he expanded on these “big changes,” sharing, “I’m retiring from the music industry to pursue a professional painting career. Advent of Violet Soul is not getting an official release. Here are the final mixes…feel free to share,” with a Dropbox link that contains the final mixes of eight new tracks from the band. The final mixes of Never Shout Never’s Advent Of Violent Soul can be streamed here

According to the band’s Wikipedia page, this collection would mark their first new music since the release of their 2020 full-length album Unborn Spark. Although Unborn Spark is listed as Never Shout Never’s final release via Kymica Records, it remains absent from Spotify. However, you can stream the seven-track collection on YouTube here. The final album release available on streaming platforms, including Spotify, is Never Shout Never‘s 2015 full-length Black Cat. The release came courtesy of Warner Music.

In a follow-up tweet, Drew shares, “I am so grateful for all the support NSN has had over the years. I am a truly blessed artist. Have a beautiful night. Pray for me and my family,” with a double heart and peace sign emoji. Following this, he shared his official Saatchi Art profile, which currently has one piece of art listed.

At the time of Never Shout Never‘s disbandment, Drew was the sole remaining member of the group. Drew orchestrated the group’s evolution from a solo endeavor to a full-fledged band just one year after its inception in 2007. While we’re certainly going to miss Never Shout Never, we at idobi Radio wish Christofer Drew the best in his future creative endeavors.
