Quickly following up on her highly-praised third EP, No One Cries Forever, NERIAH has dropped her new single “Even If It Hurts.” The track is the first pulled from her forthcoming 24-track debut album, which is scheduled for release later this year.

NERIAH‘s dreamy and airy vocal delivery layered over the track’s upbeat instrumentation creates a dance-in-the-kitchen-under-a-disco-ball vibe that showcases her immense talent as a singer-songwriter. The song’s significance lies in its message of making the difficult decision to leave a relationship that is no longer good for you, prioritizing your own happiness and well-being. The song encapsulates the emerging songstress’ personal experiences and internal monologue while reasoning with herself to end a failing relationship.

The lyrics delicately convey the message of moving on, with NERIAH singing, “Sometimes you gotta learn to leave even if it hurts/Gotta pack your bags, close the door first/Build a brand new world when something don’t work/And let the old one burn.” Through this, she is able to beautifully capture the pain of ending a relationship while confidently acknowledging that it is the best decision for herself.

On the track’s significance, NERIAH explains, “‘Even If It Hurts’ is the anthem for making the difficult decision to leave a relationship that’s no longer good for you. It is about walking away from someone that doesn’t treat you right and learning how to prioritize your own happiness and well-being. With its catchy melody and playful lyrics, this track is sure to resonate with anyone who has ever struggled to let go of someone they love.”
