Today is a grand day for alternative album drops, and that includes the self-titled Neck Deep album, their fifth studio record. Their unapologetic, raw pop-punk skills on the record were teased with singles “It Won’t Be Like This Forever,” “We Need More Bricks,” “Take Me With You,” and “Heartbreak Of The Century.” Additionally, the band premiered their music video for “Dumstruck Dumbf**k” one day ahead of Neck Deep‘s release.
The new cafe-themed music video sees the UK-based quintet highlight long-term love over uncertain lyrics. “Do you like who you are?/I really like who you are/I’m alright if you are/I think she might call it off,” vocalist Ben Barlow sings over euphoric pop-punk riffs. In true Neck Deep fashion, they even add a little humor into their video. Check out “Dumbstruck Dumbf**k” below.
“We worked hard to get this album made, but we stayed true to ourselves and made the album that best represents us, from the ground up,” Barlow says. “We can’t wait for everyone to hear it and feel the same way we did, and to hear these songs sung back to us in a huge year of touring.”
Barlow continues sharing, “It’s unapologetically us. We’re professional songwriters now and we’ve really honed in on what we’re good at—but it’s also about having fun and enjoying writing these tracks. And there are those little sonic signatures in the mix that even I can’t really put my finger on that just make it Neck Deep. It happens when we get in a room together and it clicks—it’s us just doing our thing like we always have.”
