My Chemical Romance are about as legendary as it gets. And a rollercoaster is about as fun as it gets. So it only makes sense that, at some point, the two would cross paths. In this case, it is the band’s iconic song “Welcome To The Black Parade” and the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit attraction at Universal Studios, Orlando.
This particular rollercoaster is special not just because of how many incredible twists and turns it takes. It’s also special because you can actually choose the music that you listen to whilst you are making your way around it. Yep, personal to you. There have been classic songs, hidden songs, surprise songs and all sorts of other hits for you to uncover. However, according to a spokesperson, “The time has come for Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit to welcome new music to the coaster experience while saying goodbye to the former songs.”
They continue, “The coaster now features one new song in each existing music genre. Moving forward, we will only feature one song per genre to simplify the selection experience. We can’t wait for our fans to enjoy a new beat to this great attraction.”

And that’s where My Chemical Romance come in. “Welcome To The Black Parade” is now featured on the ride under the Classic Rock/Metal category. Despite still being as popular today as when it was released back in 2006, it certainly fits perfectly in that category. And at five minutes in length, from the iconic piano key intro to the dramatic drumline closing, it is the perfect song to accompany you through your rollercoaster adventure.
But given the choice, what song would you personally want to add to the rollercoaster? A bit of Magnolia Park? Dying Wish? How about every song on Paramore’s classic album Brand New Eyes? Who knows, in the future, there might be a ride specially made for emos. We can only dream.
