Motion City Soundtrack To Celebrate 20 Years Of ‘I Am The Movie’ With Anniversary Tour

Prepare yourself for a major dose of nostalgia with Motion City Soundtrack this winter. The band recently announced they will be celebrating a whopping two decades of I Am The Movie with a tour.

Featuring the likes of “The Future Freaks Me Out” and “My Favorite Accident,” the 2003 LP is getting the full album playthrough treatment beginning on December 30. Plus, Gully Boys, Minnesota’s premier grunge-pop quartet, will be hitting the road alongside the band as support.

In a recent Instagram post, Motion City Soundtrack shared that they’re bringing their songs to smaller venues across the nation to make it feel like the good ol’ days. They said, “Hello friends! This summer marked 20 years since we released I Am The Movie with the fine folks at Epitaph Records. We feel that a celebration is in order, so we’re going to do a limited run of live shows where we will perform I Am The Movie in its entirety (and lots more)! Many of these shows will be in smaller, more intimate venues – and that is by design. We want it to feel a bit like it did back when we released the record in 2003.”

Presale tickets are currently available with the password MOVIE, courtesy of Motion City Soundtrack, and also with the password VOCALS, courtesy of Gully Boys. Official ticket sales will go live on Monday, October 23, at 10 AM local time.

Fear not, because the forthcoming tour will also include a variety of throwback merch to add to your collection. If you can’t make it out to a show, all items are currently available for pre-order on their online store.

Following Motion City‘s sets on When We Were Young Fest, you can catch them in all their mid-2000s glory throughout December and January. Check out the full list of dates below, and grab your tickets here.
