Launching into the new year with a potential contender for the ultimate breakup anthem of 2024, LØLØ unveils her latest offering, the fierce and unapologetic “2 of us.” The song, which follows her December release “*snow in berlin*,” draws inspiration from LØLØ‘s own journey of emancipating herself from a past partner whose presence only added toxicity to her life.

Navigating the emotional spectrum from the revelation of “still texting your ex” to the vulnerable act of drunk-dialing “7 times,” “2 of us” ignites with a fervent energy. LØLØ‘s dynamic blend of pop sensibility and powerful vocal delivery complements the track, adorned with incendiary guitars and propelled by spirited percussion that amplifies its ferocity.

The accompanying video opens with a viewer discretion warning, which states, “The following song may contain lyrics that some millennials and/or elder emos might find extremely offensive. tbh I think skinny jeans are fine, it just felt like a really good line.”

Set against the backdrop of an old-school pixelated video game, viewers watch a captivating scene where two avatars of LØLØ race along a yellow brick road. However, the tension mounts as both versions continually lose hearts, a common symbol that represents lives, in the simulated game. The intensity peaks when, in a desperate attempt to reach the other side, LØLØ‘s avatar races through brick walls, only to face inevitable defeat with the flashing words “GAME OVER” on the screen. As her lives dwindle, a climactic moment unfolds where she confronts the core issue—the grip of her toxic ex. The track reaches its crest as LØLØ belts out, “Do you think I’m stupid?/Do you think I’m dumb?/Well maybe I am because I’m still in love/I hate that I don’t hate you quite enough.”

“I wrote ‘2 of us’ at a time where I felt very dumb,” LØLØ explains of her new release. “I couldn’t shake someone who was terrible for me. And I thought they were being so thoughtless and stupid, but then I realized I was being just as stupid for even giving them the time of day.”

She adds, “P.S. I’m sorry to my fellow emo’s who will be offended by the skinny jeans line…it was just a really good diss, okay?? I felt very sassy while writing this one, so a couple of the lines are pretty funny lol.”
