Linkin Park have shared another previously unreleased track from their Meteora sessions, set to be part of a very special and extensive 20th-anniversary release.
The track is “Fighting Myself”, and feels like a time capsule in the most stunningly affecting ways. Knowing that the instrumental was hiding in the archives, Mike Shinoda was surprised to find vocal stems from him, and Chester Bennington, attached to it as well. He now describes it as, “a definitive Linkin Park track.“
And with good reason. Embodying the atmosphere of the Meteora mindset perfectly, blending slamming nu-metal guitars with a tight and emotional rap from Shinoda and Chester’s immortal voice, still sending shivers coursing down the spine. It’s absolutely brilliant, and the fact that we can all share in these hidden gems all these years later is a pleasure we should not take for granted.
