Knocked Loose has unleashed the hammering lead single, “Blinding Faith,” from their freshly announced forthcoming album You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To. The record is slated to arrive via Pure Noise Records on May 10.
Equipped with an array of gritty breakdowns against a backdrop of filthy guitar work and thundering drums, “Blinding Faith” takes aim at the hypocrisy of organized religion. The band masterfully pummels listeners with two minutes and fifty-seven seconds of crushing, relentless arrangements and piercing lyricism highlighted by breakdown “The word becomes the law/The word becomes the law/Bend the knee/Child of God.”
Speaking on the message and theme of the track, guitarist Isaac Hale shares, “It was just hilarious how many people showed up to church that I knew were rude, horrible, selfish people. They knew that it made them seem like a better person—or if they said the words, it would redeem them of any negative quality just because they showed face.”
Additionally, the group has shared pre-orders/presaves for their third album, You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To. Following their tour in 2023 with Motionless In White, the 10-track album will feature vocalist Chris Motionless on track 7 titled “Slaughterhouse 2,” as well as Poppy on track 3 titled “Suffocate.”
“On this album, we go the fastest we’ve ever gone; we go the scariest we’ve ever gone. We also go the catchiest and the most melodic that we’ve ever gone, and that’s the point,” Hale adds. “Instead of branching off into a specific direction, we want to encompass ALL directions.”
