Incendiary Release Crushing New Track “Lie Of Liberty”

Whenever Incendiary have a new album ready to go, it’s a moment where everyone stops and takes notice. Leaders in hardcore, as well as commentators on the state of things. And their latest record, Change The Way You Think About Pain, is looking to further extend their authority in the genre.

You only have to listen to “Lie Of Liberty” to see just why this is the case. It is a battering ram of feeling. With riffs that feel like teeth being smashed into concrete, they toy with tension in the most brutal of ways. And then the lyrics, serving as a takedown of those who have taken good and bent it towards their own twisted views. It’s a statement of intent as much as a warning to those who do wrong in the world to watch their words.

The band had this to say about it:

“The word ‘liberty’ has been hijacked by a certain cohort of people to excuse selfish and apathetic behavior as part of a vague, pseudo-Libertarian worldview. This song is a reflection of this trend that most of us have seen in our post-COVID daily life.”

Indendiary will release their new album, Change The Way You Think About Pain on May 26 via Closed Casket Activities.

Vocalist Brendan Garrone had this to say about it:

“The album is a mix of both the socio-politically driven content and darker, more personalized subjects. The album title is meant to conjure the concept of pain avoidance. Most of the songs have some kind of tie back to the things everyone does to avoid feeling any semblance of pain. ‘Pain avoidance’ is a phrase me and Brian came across and kept in the back of our minds.”
