Amanda Gorman is Booked Busy and BLESSED
America fell in love with Amanda Gorman, the first ever youth poet laureate, who recited her poem “The Hill We Climb” at President Biden’s inauguration last week. The 22-year old instantly received acclaim and praise for her grace and her poignant message. Today, NFL commissioner Roger Goodel announced that Gorman will be reciting another original poem to kick off this year’s Super Bowl LV. Her piece will highlight three heroes of the pandemic who are being honored by the league for their service to their communities. The three honorees: educator Trimaine Davis, nurse manager Suzie Dorner, and veteran James Martin, were not only surprised by a free trip to the Super Bowl, they were also named honorary captains and will be participating in the on-field coin toss ceremony. The event will be held at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida on February 7th and will be airing nationally on CBS. Hell yes!

Halsey is Expecting!
We need to all give Halsey a big congratulations on the announcement of her first child. The 26-year old posted a series of three maternity photos with the caption “surprise! ????????????????” on Instagram today. Alev Aydin—a writer, producer, and actor—was not only tagged on Halsey’s belly but commented “heart so full. I love you sweetness” and reposed the story, confirming he is in fact the father. We are so happy for both of them and wish them nothing but love and luck in this next chapter of their lives.

Death Cab is Bringing a Fresh Spin on Nostalgia
Kimmel is on a roll this week! Last night, indie-rock legends Death Cab For Cutie performed their cover of TLC’s “Waterfalls” on Jimmy Kimmel Live. The rendition is off Georgia, their new EP which celebrates artists from the state of Georgia with their own beautiful renditions. The performance was filmed remotely, with each musician in their homes or their own studio. This version of the song feels like an incredible combination of nostalgia and freshness and it is captivating! Be sure to check out the full performance!
