happydaze have announced the details of a brand new EP, the follow-up to 2022’s Underground Summer Sound. It’s going to be called Full Free Radical and will be dropping on May 12th via Thriller Records. Vocalist Luke Bovill had this to say about it:
“Full Free Radical is the product of the last year of our lives. It’s about the decisions you make that change your life forever, the coming and going of people on your journey and taking care of the important things along the way. We have spent the last year finding out who we are as a band while finishing this record, wanting to make something that felt familiar but also new and exciting. The songs are honest, real and the truest representation of who we are as a band so far, we can’t wait to give them away to the world.”
The artwork looks like this:
And the tracklisting like this:
01. “Faded”
02. “(Full Free) Radical”
03. “Cool Blue”
04. “Day in and Out”
05. “Thinkinofu”
06. “Heaven You Felt”
07. “Same to Me”
The band have also shared the title track just now, a bright and breezy piece of 90’s-leaning pop-punk loveliness that feels as nostalgic as it does fresh.
The video also reflects a lot of that vintage feeling, with flowery imagery, lo-res camera work and plenty of psychedelic influence.
It’s the first third song from the EP that has been shared, joining the ethereal “Faded”:
And fresh “Cool Blue”:
