Guess Which Taylor Swift Song blink-182 Covered

In a surprising move during the trio’s Detroit, MI performance last night (May 9), blink-182 played a snippet of Taylor Swift‘s 6x platinum song “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” following a performance of their own hit single, “Dammit.” The unexpected mashup is quite a tongue-in-cheek moment for the group considering guitarist Tom DeLonge’s return to the band in 2022 following his initial departure in 2015.

The band’s playful rendition of “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” showed off their willingness to poke fun at the whole situation. While vocalist Mark Hoppus takes the lead on belting out, “We are never ever ever getting back together,” DeLonge is seen bobbing his head, smirking into the crowd, and jokingly mouthing to fans, “Come on,” before bleeding back into the chorus of “Dammit.”

Last week, rumors spiraled within the blink-182 fanbase that new music could be incoming sooner than we think! One eagle-eyed fan group, blink-182 Italia, spotted a possible clue as to when we might receive the follow-up single to “EDGING,” which dropped on Oct. 14, 2022. They shared on socials, “NEW BLINK-182 SINGLE ON JUNE 2ND? If you go to blink-182’s website, there’s a new page with several things scribbled on a wall, including “MORE THAN YOU’LL EVER KNOW 6/2”, which we know is a new blink-182 song. This seems to suggest it’s coming out on June 2nd!”

The band is currently on the North American leg of their tour before performing back-to-back sets at the When We Were Young Festival in Las Vegas, NV this October. Check out the band’s entire 2023 touring schedule below and grab tickets here.
