Combining their soaring shoegaze with heavy breakdowns, Glixen has released their somber new single, “Sick Silent.”
“We recorded ‘sick silent’ with Sonny Diperri in Juniper Hills, CA,” vocalist Aislinn Ritchie shares. “‘sick silent’ is like a meadow in a dark forest, evoking feelings of temporality. There are currents of distortion and reverse reverb enveloped in adrenaline-inducing percussion and hard-hitting bass lines with vocals that shine through piercing layers of guitars, giving a glimpse of the world that Glixen lives in.”
The encompassing soundscape unleashes a torrent of distorted riffs paired with delicate vocals that evoke a profound sense of torment and longing. Departing from their signature shoegaze roots, Glixen immerses themselves in a maelstrom of heavy breakdowns and instrumentation.
Glixen is slated to hit the road later this month with Glare, Turnover, and Tanukichan. The tour is scheduled to kick off on September 27 and will run through November 1. Check out the band’s touring schedule below and grab tickets to see them live here.
