If you’ve been following Fall Out Boy‘s So Much For (2our) Dust dates, then you have probably seen how each show yields a special surprise. And no, this isn’t exclusively referring to the Magic 8 Ball songs. On Wednesday, March 27, in Pittsburgh, the band covered a unique track that sent the fandom into a spiral, “Heart Transplant” by Punchline.

For those unfamiliar, Punchline is a rock band who rapidly gained popularity in the ’00s with Action, a record they”re touring for its 20th anniversary. Of note, they hail from The ‘Burgh, so Fall Out Boy definitely was sending a love letter to the city.

At PPG Paints Arena, Patrick Stump sat down to do his piano medley and said, “I was gonna leave it a surprise, but it’s a band called Punchline, and if you don’t know them, you should check them out.” Stump noted that they used to play together before launching into the piano cover. On a recent Instagram post, Punchline shared the video saying, “Thanks Patrick for covering our song.” Check out the cover below.

Fueled By Ramen commented, “Label mates forever.” Plus, Johnny Minardi, Head of Fueled By Ramen commented, “Whoa this rules. Didn’t know I needed that.”

In their Instagram stories, Punchline has been sharing all the love pouring in from fans. Fascinatingly, Instagram user @surefiremusicpgh recalls seeing a Fall Out Boy and Punchline show at Mr. Smalls back in 2004.

For fans looking to see a Fall Out Boy show, there are still a few dates left on their current tour with Carr, Hot Mulligan, and Jimmy Eat World. Who knows, you might get another surprise guest like Cobra Starship or The Academy Is… vocalist William Beckett. Check out the remaining dates below.
