DAYTIME TV are back and dealing out more heat with the release of their new track “block out the noise“. It’s been a busy time for the band since the release of their debut album nothing’s on but everyone’s watching last year. From support slots with everyone from Kaiser Chiefs to Blue October and destroying every festival that has had them, they have been picking up new followers everywhere they go. 2023 has also seen them piecing together a new chapter. Earlier this year, they shared the infectious “jessica“, and now they are building upon that with another ode to modern living.
“block out the noise” serves more as a statement or instruction than a song. A reminder to ignore the static and focus on the things that matter. Life can leave you feeling so fuzzy if you let it under your skin, so be on your toes and exist in the here and now. And DAYTIME TV do an incredible job of bringing the sentiment to life. Combining foot-tapping indie rock with snotty British attitude, it equates to a track that feels as buoyant as it does boisterous.

Vocalist Will Irvine had this to say about it:
“This is our anthem for drowning out the chaos. It’s about choosing your own path and not letting negative influences control your life. We live in such a loud world with constant information overload, it’s hard to focus on the things that make you who you are. It’s a song for everyone trying to rise above the voices that say ‘you can’t’ or ‘you’re not good enough”.
