EMI Music has become the first major label to line up multiple artists for an edition of Tapulous’ popular iPhone game application Tap Tap Revenge. Amy Winehouse and Paul McCartney set their recent troubles aside to steal the show Wednesday at the Brit Awards, the British music industry’s most prestigious prizes. Rockers Foo Fighters and British bands Take That and Arctic Monkeys were all double winners at Britain’s equivalent of the Grammys. The 2008 Green Apple Festival won’t “change the world,” Green Apple founder/executive producer Peter Shapiro says, but this year’s third installment of the event will expand from three locations to eight U.S. city parks for simultaneous outdoor festivals on April 20. Oasis, the Killers, and Kaiser Chiefs are to cover songs from the Beatles’ Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band to mark the 40th anniversary of the classic album’s release. The original album was released on June 1, 1967, and to mark the event the big names will all be covering tracks from the record for a BBC2 special to be aired in the U.K. on June 2.
