Dark Divine had a magnetic journey over the last 365 days. From the release of their debut album, Deadly Fun, to the inspiring and exhilarating experience of touring alongside Thriller Records labelmates The Word Alive on the Hard Reset Tour, the group has, without a doubt, etched a monumental chapter into their history.

As the curtains close on 2023, the band is already poised for a momentous 2024. With a tour alongside alt behemoths Black Veil Brides looming on the horizon, Dark Divine is set to unleash yet another wave of performance brilliance across North America.

As we eagerly await the promise the group’s 2024 plans have to offer, Dark Divine delves into their favorite albums of 2023 and the endless inspiration that came along with the listening experience. Check out their selections below. Be sure to grab tickets to see them live on The Bleeders Tour alongside BVB, Creeper, and Ghostkid.

Hard Reset — The Word Alive
Released: August 25, 2023

Hearing this album live every night when we were on the Hard Reset Tour was nothing short of a good time every time. I feel as though I learned a lot as a performer and as a vocalist from watching The Word Alive play Hard Reset live. It definitely influenced how I go about both performing as well as formatting our live show.

Take Me Back To Eden — Sleep Token
Released: May 19, 2023

To say that this album has many dynamic flavors would be an understatement. As a band, I feel as though seeing what Sleep Token was doing with this album definitely influenced our own desires to incorporate different stylistic elements. Not only that, but Sleep Token, as a band in general, has had great influence in terms of appreciation for visual elements and desire to go above and beyond what the audience sees on stage.

A Gradual Decline In Morale — Kim Dracula
Released: July 14, 2023

This album was one that was constantly played on repeat while on tour. The album is another example of a variation of sound in an album. The idea of there being almost “something for everyone” is a concept that Dark Divine has a great appreciation of. It is something that we try to incorporate in both the music we have released as well as the music we are currently working on.

Coma Year — LIMBS
Released: June 24, 2022

While technically not a 2023 album (it was released in 2022), it would feel wrong to not add it to this list. Whenever things went wrong or got stressful on any of the tours we have done in 2023, this album would always find its way onto our radio. The title track has become something of an anthem to us. We consider this song to be one of the best written in terms of emotional carriage and catchy melody. I 100% attribute any success we have had in completing long tours to the existence of this album.
