Creeper have well and truly sunk their teeth into their new album now. The band will release Sanguivore on October 13 via Spinefarm Records. A vampiric tale of lust, violence and drama, it is the most flamboyant and fierce work that Creeper have ever committed their name to. The journey started with the outrageous glam rock of “Cry To Heaven“, which introduced the band in their undead forms. Now, they are introducing us to the characters that make up their story, specifically Mercy.
The song is called “Teenage Sacrifice” and delivers monumental metal moments by the boatload. Thrilling, fantastical and readymade for every stadium in the land, it allows the band to be as pummelling as possible. With the gruff sensuality of Judas Priest and the unchained mayhem of Ozzy Osbourne, it’s a tribute to an incredible moment for rock music.

And in terms of the song’s narrative, we meet Mercy. A young vampire who may be innocent on the surface but is utterly savage when it comes to feeding. The NSFW video shows off just how far she goes with her blood lust, and it is not for the faint of heart.
Vocalist William Van Ghould had this to say about it:
“The song introduces Mercy, the protagonist of the ‘Sanguivore’ narrative. She’s deceptively innocent yet savagely violent, and her ability to make people fall under her spell is just one indication that Mercy is not all that she seems.”
