Coachella Comes After Moechella

Coachella is suing non-profit protest group, Moechella, accusing them of profiting over the use of their name and a similar logo. Moechella hosts a concert series and supports peaceful protesting, founded in DC after a local Metro PCS store started getting complaints about the go-go music it was playing over its speakers.

Despite the promotion of peace, there have been violent incidents during some of Moechella’s events, including one last year when a 15-year-old boy was killed after a shooting broke out. According to the lawsuit, Coachella is also concerned with being linked to these incidents.

Moechella has now spoken out about the lawsuit. They believe the two organizations should come together and join forces instead of battling it out in court. Coachella has sued others in the past for the same reason so we’re not sure how likely they are to take up that offer. Moechella may need to be ready to battle this one out.
