Blue-haired pop/rock singer Charlotte Sands has issued her new single “pity.” The new track teases what fans can expect from her upcoming album, can we start over? out January 24. A new album means hopping on tour, too. She’ll embark on a U.S., EU/UK tour to support the LP.

“It’s about the feeling of jealousy and comparing yourself but also about the experience of being captivated by someone else’s existence. Making this song was such a fun experience,” says Sands about her new single, “‘Pity’ is a song about meeting ‘the perfect person’ and wishing you could be more like them.” With traditional pop-punk beats and the aggression of questioning the emotional rollercoaster of envy a lot of people feel, the song tackles an often hushed topic and brings it to the forefront.

The song could encourage a mosh-pit in the chorus alone with the line, “I talked to God/Said she’s his favorite/I swear,” filled with dripping semi-sweetness and spite, making the track even more relatable. Sands previously released “get over it” and “use me” off of her forthcoming album. Find out where she’s touring below and grab tickets here.
