Sometimes it’s hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. But Caskets’ latest single “Better Way Out” is a reminder that things get better. The melodic rock band’s new song, released via SharpTone Records, is affirming, offering the listener strength and solace through hopeful lyrics and driving guitars. It’s about understanding your self-worth and opening your heart up to the people in your life. It can be challenging to ask for help, but sometimes a hug or a shoulder to lean on is the best way to begin moving away from the darkness.
Frontman Matt Flood discusses the deep meaning behind the track sharing, “‘Better Way Out’ is a song that relates to suicidal thoughts and tendencies.”

He continues, “It’s a song about noticing and understanding the trials and tribulations of life, about rising above the feelings of depression and anxiety and knowing your self-worth. To have somebody say that they see you and they hear you, or to have a community by your side while you go through these daily battles isn’t something afforded to everybody. So many of us can blindly walk through the barriers that we build inside our heads, alone without a shoulder to cry on or a friend to lend an ear.”
The new single is pulled from Caskets’ upcoming full-length, Reflections, which drops on August 11. Following the success of their debut record, Lost Souls, the Yorkshire band is excited to share a new collection of songs with their fans that highlights each of the five members’ musical influences, life experiences, and relationships with one another. It is a truly collaborative effort that reflects the highs and lows that the band has been through both on and off the road this year. Plus, it includes a killer collaboration with The Word Alive singer Telle Smith on the previously released single “More Than Misery.”
“Reflections shows how much more we can get out of the band musically if we all put our heads together a bit more,” Flood adds. “It’s always about the music, that’s the whole point of being in a band. If we can fit as much into our sound, but it still sounds like us, that’s my lifelong goal with Caskets.”
