Bayside Are “The Devils” In Their New Song & Announces Upcoming LP

Bayside is back with their new single, “The Devils.” It’s off of their upcoming album, There Are Worse Things Than Being Alive, which comes out on April 5 via Hopeless Records. With a haunting aura mixed with their traditional punk sound, the act ushers in a darker phase.

Eerie gang vocals introduce the track and set the mood for an almost ghostly setting. “We are the trade-ins/The souls that needed saving” kicks off the song partnered with metal-esque guitar riffs. Frontman Anthony Raneri immediately grabs hold with melodically hypnotizing vocals, which propels the song along. There’s a sad theme attached, yet the formulaic plan the group creates gives it a hopeful outlook by the conclusion.

Their previous release, “Castaway,” solidifies this incoming LP’s ambiance. Tying these two singles together presents a message of introspection and reflection while maintaining that everyone is in the same emotional boat, navigating a sometimes treacherous life. That much is evident in their intricate instrumentals and influential lyricism. Being a band for nearly 25 years is bound to do that; Bayside has only grown with its craft, as well as its fans, since its inception. Simply put, they show no signs of slowing down as a staple in the punk/emo scene.
