After teasing their new single with cryptic videos of Poppy, Bad Omens and the Zig artist have officially debuted their collaborative track “V.A.N” onstage at Columbiahalle in Berlin, Germany on January 27. Many TikTok users caught the live debut.

However, in a special Cologne, Germany Veeps stream, fans from across the globe got to witness the Bad Omens show on January 28.

“This place feels familiar, but I feel different. Can you hear me? How long have you been here? Have you been watching me this entire time? That’s weird,” a pre-recorded Poppy says throughout visuals of her and a white rabbit. Poppy then walked out onstage with the whole band to showcase “V.A.N” with the lyrics displayed on Bad Omens‘ large screen set. Both lead vocalists, Noah Sebastian and Poppy, offer urgent screams and even a handshake during the track’s climax. Check out the live crossover below, courtesy of Veeps and Chic.

The track uniquely follows the narrative of AI as it starts to disrupt the otherwise natural order of the human experience.

“That’s a song that started just with the hook ‘Violence against nature,’ and then after saving the project with the acronym and seeing it, we realized it could be fun to think of ‘VAN’ as a name,” Sebastian explains. “Thus the rabbit hole of ideas began that led us to decide to write lyrics from the perspective of an artificial intelligence gone rogue.”

Bad Omens wrapped their recent tour with Bring Me The Horizon. This week, they hit the road again for the Concrete Forever Europe tour alongside Poppy, which began on January 27 in Berlin. You can check out the Concrete Forever tour dates below and get tickets here.
