BABYMETAL have confirmed that after spending the last five years as a duo, they are once again a trio.
Back in 2018, original member Yui Mizuno, also known as Yuimetal, would be leaving the band to focus on their solo career. The two remaining members, Su-metal and Moametal, continued to tour and even just released a new album together titled THE OTHER ONE.
But now they have revealed that Okazaki Momoko, now known as MOMAMETAL, will officially be joining them as a full member.
She has been a backing dancer for the band, known as the Avengers, since 2019, and before her time with BABYMETAL, she was a member of the Japanese idol girl group Sakura Gakuin. In 2021 she was also a contestant on Girls Planet 999.
This new era kicked off in style on April 1st at the PIA ARENA MM in Yokohama for a BLACK NIGHT show, with the CLEAR NIGHT show following on Sunday.
THE OTHER ONE is out now via BABYMETAL RECORDS.
