It’s a good day to be an Anthony Green fan! The Circa Survive frontman has released two new singles: the folky “Last Summer In America” and the twinkling “All Hours.”
“I was walking around Europe a lot on the recent LS Dunes tour, and I found myself singing these words in this melody,” Green shares via Instagram. “I heard somebody say the ‘last summer in America’, but referring to how they were in America last summer, past tense.”
He continues, “I started dreaming up the idea of writing a simple folk song about how we seem to be more inclined to talk about the end of the world rather than the end of these oppressive corrupt systems that we’ve all invented or inherited and agreed to take part in. It’s a meditation on whether or not a broken system can heal itself within its own mechanisms.”
