Offering fans their first taste of new music and marking a new chapter in her life, Anna Shoemaker has released her gleaming single “Close To The Sun.”
“This is an ‘it’s not you, it’s me’ song,” Shoemaker shares of the track. “I was really having a hard time balancing everything in my life, one might say I was girl-bossing a little bit too close to the sun! Ultimately, everything sort of imploded, I have a lot more songs coming, but I wanted to begin with the catalyst. When I wrote this, I realized I needed to make a massive change.”
Highlighted by vibrant guitar work and Shoemaker’s breezy delivery, “Close To The Sun” is a reflective and contemplative piece that differs from the upbeat energy of the 2023 Hey Anna EP. The intricate guitar melodies weave through the track, while Shoemaker’s light and airy vocals perfectly complement the introspective lyrics. Check out “Close To The Sun” below.
