Anberlin returns with their hard-hitting single, “Lacerate,” a glimpse into their upcoming EP, Convinced, set to drop on June 30 via Equal Vision Records. With an explosive blend of electrifying instrumentation and lead vocalist Stephen Christian‘s commanding delivery, “Lacerate” wastes no time in making its impact felt.

“Lacerate” kicks off with a sense of urgency and intensity that permeates across the track. As the song progresses, the instrumentation gradually builds, creating a wall of sound that envelops the listener. The drums provide a steady and propulsive backbone, while the guitars unleash a torrent of gritty riffs and soaring melodies. The band’s tight musicianship is on full display, seamlessly blending different elements to craft a powerful sonic experience and acting as a gratifying preview of their forthcoming EP.

The chorus of “Lacerate” is an undeniable highlight, boasting an infectious and anthemic quality.  Christian’s impassioned vocals rise above the instrumentation, adding an extra layer of intensity to the song.

“‘Lacerate’ is about a toxic and dysfunctional relationship; it’s about feeling trapped and existing only to hear negative things from the person you’re with; it’s a song about disillusionment, longing for release, and the conflicting emotions that come with a troubled relationship” Christian explains of the new single.
