Today, Alexisonfire announced a new live album, LIVE Born & Raised 2022, St Catherines ON, which is scheduled to debut later this month on June 27. Ahead of the LP, they’ve shared the single, “Little Girls Pointing And Laughing,” a live version of the first song they wrote as a band over 20 years ago. The album will feature 17 tracks, recorded live in the band’s hometown of St. Catherines during their inaugural Born & Raised Festival.
The LIVE Born & Raised 2022, St.Catherines ON LP is Alexisonfire’s way to pay homage to the community they practically owe their careers to.
“St. Catharines was a perfect breeding ground for young independent bands,” vocalist/keyboardist George Pettit shares. “There was no shortage of venues where you could play or promote a show. So, in the early 2000s, Alexisonfire learned a lot of what we needed to know coming up in St. Catharines. Coming back and playing a massive festival in Montebello Park was not only fun but served as an opportunity to give something back to the city that taught us how to be a band.”

When Alexisonfire wrote “Little Girls Pointing And Laughing,” they were mere blocks from the festival grounds that now host Born & Raised. Playing that song at the 2022 inaugural festival was a palpable full circle moment you can feel as you listen to the live recording. Luckily, fans will have several listening options come the LP’s June release. In addition to streaming, it will be available in standard and limited edition vinyl variants, including a special festival color variant, exclusively available at this year’s Born & Raised Festival in St. Catherines.
