Tuesday night, classic rock metal band AC/DC released their newest single, ”Shot In The Dark”, off their new album Power Up (Nov 13). This is the first release from the band since Rock Or Bust in 2014.
“I need a pick-me-up, a rollin’ thunder truck. I need a shot of you”

The song opens with a classic blues rock riff and their signature screaming guitar tone. Within the first 20 seconds, you know exactly where they’re going and it feels like home.
Billboard reports “Shot In The Dark” is the triumphant return of lead singer Brian Johnson (who had to briefly step down in 2016 due to hearing-loss issues) and drummer Phil Rudd.

AC/DC isn’t trying to reinvent their sound here. And, you know what? We don’t really want that anyway, do we? This single feels both familiar and new. Like watching a new season of The Great British Bake Off, it’s comforting and cozy but still has a surprise or two up its sleeve.
All in all, I think they have it right, “A shot in the dark beats a walk in the park!”
