Originally released in 2002, “Amber” by 311 is a song that has definitely stood the test of time. The track is easily a household jam. You know it, your parents know it, and we bet your grandma would know it too. The song has appeared in movies including 50 First Dates, Dear Johnand Forgetting Sarah Marshalland landed on charts such as Billboard’s Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles (#3), Modern Rock Tracks (#13), and Adult Top 40 (#27). “Amber” also currently boasts over 193 million streams on Spotify. It has been one of the staple songs of summer for two decades and 311 has decided to reinvent it just in time for warmer weather.

It is hardly a surprise the group would want to consider speeding up the track. TikTok users are no strangers to taking a popular song and either speeding it up or slowing it down, to stick to trends within the platform.  Vocalist Nick Hexum shares, “My daughters keep showing me TikToks of their friends making videos to Amber. They seem to like it more sped up. I’m like whatever floats your boat!”
