The first Pride was a riot—the Stonewall riots, to be exact. And it feels like the spirit of those early movements needs to return. As the United States legislates against transgender individuals, incites attacks on LGBTQIA+ rights, and defunds valuable health programs such as HIV research, it might feel like there’s a looming dark cloud over the month. However, celebrating who you are and who you love is an act of resistance!
Not only does the whole team at idobi Radio celebrate Pride, these alternative musicians and brands are also celebrating the LGBTQ+ people in their lives this June and beyond.
Scene Queen
Scene Queen has always and will always be a fierce fighter for the shes, theys, and gays. In a recent Twitter post, she shared her gratitude with her fanbase and noted, “You make me feel validated as a bisexual, which is rare.” Happy Pride to our fave bimbo-core artist!
Hansel Romero of Nightlife
nightlife is currently on tour with Honey Revenge and Daisy Grenade, and lead vocalist Hansel Romero shared, “I wanna send my biggest love to all the trans and nongender folk in my life, and to all the queers who’ve allowed me space to feel like myself and truly grow into my own as an adult.” Catch nightlife out on the road this June and celebrate Pride in the best way!

Goo Goo Dolls
Goo Goo Dolls are all about loving who you love this Pride!
L.S. Dunes
L.S. Dunes celebrates Pride “every second, minute, week, month, day and year.”
Nick Offerman
Nick Offerman, best known for his role as Ron Swanson in NBC’s Parks And Recreation, iconically reacted to Michael Flynn Jr.’s anti-Pride meme featuring his character. “Ron was best man at a gay wedding you dumb fuck. #HappyPride,” he shared. Notably, Flynn Jr. has no claim to fame besides being the son of Michael Flynn, who served as the national security advisor during Trump’s first administration for the first 22 days, who was ultimately forced to resign.
Offerman, however, has been a fierce ally to the LGBT community, even portraying Bill in The Last Of Us, who builds out a beautiful life in the zombie apocalype with his partner Frank. The third episode will forever contain one of the most sincere gay love stories in television.
TX2, YUNGBLUD, More
TX2 and YUNGBLUD are just two of the many amazing artists who signed an open letter with the Trevor Project to call on Congress and the administration to protect funding for the national LGBTQ+ youth mental health crisis line. Other artists standing in solidarity with LGBTQ+ youth include Sabrina Carpenter, Pedro Pascal, and Ariana Grande. Check out the full list here.
