Rise Rock n’ Shine: Narrative + Illist

The coffee is hot, the music is good,

it’s time to Rise Rock n’ Shine…

Who: In the summer of 2018, the alternative rock band of your dreams formed in Chicago. Meet Narrative.

What: With smooth melodies and uplifting themes, “Diamond” just put Narrative on the radar and we don’t think we’ll be looking away anytime soon.

Why: If you want superficial beats, Narrative isn’t for you. If you want soaring vocals and emotional tidal waves, “Diamond” is about to be your jam.

“What’s up idobi radio?! We are Narrative, an alternative rock band from the Chicago / Milwaukee area. We strive to make music that shows layers of melody, heart pulling lyrics, and an undeniable rock structure, while still allowing our love for other genres to shine through. Our most recent release, which dropped earlier this month, really characterizes that approach and shows how we’ve really been honing in on the personality that shows music is much more than just a sound, it’s a feeling. Check our vibe in our brand new single, ‘Diamond’ now! ????” – Narrative

Who: Virginia metalcore band Illist just wants to relate. Their songs are written for anybody and everybody—well, everybody who’s into some serious moshing, that is.

What: Illist hit the perfect balance of radio rock and mind-shredding tunes on their fourth track “What I’ve Never Felt”.

Why: No matter what kind of head-banging you’re into Illist’s “What I’ve Never Felt” has the melody for you, blending seamlessly from crushing vocals to anthemic choruses.

“Ever change yourself and act a certain way so that you’re accepted and liked by others, but deep down you’re miserable inside? Now imagine doing that your WHOLE LIFE! That is ‘What I’ve Never Felt’. It encourages anyone who’s lived their life in this way out of fear, or self preservation, to take heart, live life as they truly are, and make their story their own!” -Micah Elias, vocalist for Illist
