“Ticket is the first single off of our upcoming album Bad Magic coming out on October 12th. The song represents a drastic shift in our songwriting and approach to music. Where our last few albums have dealt primarily with heartbreak and angst, Bad Magic explores deeper themes such as priority and worth while sitting in a nice pocket of rhythm and groove. If you have never heard us before ‘Ticket’ is a great place to start!” – Big Lonely
Who: Young Rising Sons loves to make music we can’t get enough of and they’re pretty good at it too.
What: The totally dance-worthy beat of “SAD”. Crank it up and shake a leg—just don’t forget your smile.
Why: We’ll be clapping away all our struggles with “SAD” for a long time.
“As a senior in high school I was able to put a quote next to my photo in the yearbook. I wrote, ‘If you’re emo and you know it, clap your hands.’ (I had the horrendous emo swoop to boot.) In retrospect, I suppose it walked that delicate line of self-awareness & sarcasm. People made fun of me for the quote and all throughout high school for that matter. I pretended not to care but I did. Sometimes we get sad. That’s normal, and it’s okay to take a moment and feel it. There will always be people who tell you to ‘cheer up’ or just ‘shut up and be happy.’ ‘SAD’ is a song for the people who understand that it’s not always that simple.” – Young Rising Sons
