Another year and it feels great to say that the Skate and Surf Festival is back once again; after coming back and returning last year with bands like MIDTOWN and CIRCA SURVIVE… this year John D from the Skate and Surf Festival, has come through and added amazing bands such as mother f’n ACCEPTANCE and MANCHESTER ORCHESTRA.. FATA… Poison the Well… and so many great bands from The Wonder Years and more!
John D’s been a supporter of The Gunz Show for years – and I literally grew up late spring early summer at the Skate and Surf / Bamboozle Festivals – from the Drive Thru stages on.
I spoke with John about this year’s festival – he says there will be even MORE bands announced, and addresses how the festival came about this year, the game plan behind it, going the opposite direction from an EDM focused fest, and bringing it back to the Rock.

*Note: I taped this interview before I had heard about the “lack of women at S&S this year” or whatever. John addresses it on his own in the interview, and you can either believe him or not. From my own experience with him, I would vouch that he has NO problem having female fronted bands whatsoever at all. And on his answer alone, you can tell that he reached out to various ones to have them play.*
